About Mineral Point
Tucked into the rolling hills of southwest Wisconsin, this Driftless Area survived the last glacial period untouched. With its unique topography, the region’s minerals were readily accessible for mining, serving as a boon to many prospectors who built small communities in this beautiful area. In the mid-19th century, England sent some of its finest stone builders to Mineral Point, and their legacy continues today in the impressive and expansive mid-19th century architecture.

History Abounds
Mineral Point was built by talented artisans before the Civil War, and because of their fine craftsmanship, much of the city is now considered a historical district. Many years later you can still explore the stone cottages and businesses built by the Cornish settlers of the 1800s. Mineral Point feels new and fresh, but its architecture is a delightful window to the past.
